A legendary member of the WINK News team, Chief Meteorologist Jim Farrell is retiring after 29 years.

Jim started at WINK News in 1992 and built a reputation of reliable weather forecasting that is second to none.

Jim’s straightforward just-the-facts approach helped calm our Southwest Florida community during many natural disasters.

He has mentored countless meteorologists over the past 29 years who are now serving communities all over the country.

Jim was honored by the Press Club of Southwest Florida and fellow members of the news industry on Wednesday, including The Weather Channel Meteorologist Jim Cantore.

But this community can’t say “thank you” enough to Jim.

JIM FARRELL DAY: Thursday, Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson joined WINK News on set to congratulate Jim on his service in Southwest Florida for so many years.

Joined by Councilman Liston Bochette, Anderson proclaimed March 11 “Jim Farrell Day” in Fort Myers with WINK News anchors Lois Thome and Chris Cifatte also present.
